Régine Robin is a Professor of Sociology at the Université du Québec à Montréal. A recipient of the Governor General Award for Non-fiction in 1987 for Le Réalisme socialiste: Une esthétique impossible (translated by Stanford University Press in 1992 under the title Socialist Realism: An Impossible Aesthetic), she has written extensively on the theory and practice of literature in the sociological field as well as on questions of identity and culture. She was honoured in 1994 by the Association canadienne française pour l’avancement des sciences (ACFAS) for her interdisciplinary body of work. She currently heads the Inter-University Centre for Discourse Analysis and Sociocriticism of Texts in Montréal. Contributor to: |
