Sandra Martin, Contributor

Sandra Martin is a journalist, commentator and essayist. Born and educated in Montreal, Martin has worked in England, and now lives in Toronto. Her work, which ranges from the arts to business to social and public policy, has appeared in Saturday Night, Toronto Life, Canadian Art, The Canadian Forum, Elm Street, Chatelaine, Maclean’s, The Toronto Star, and the Globe and Mail. among other magazines and newspapers. She is a frequent commentator on television and radio and has written and anrrated a number of documentaries for CBC’s Ideas. Her books include Card Tricks: Bankers, Boomers and the Explosion of Plastic Credit, with Ann Finlayson; Where Were You? Memorable Events of the 20th Century, with Roger Hall.
Martin has recieved the Fiona Mee prize for literary journalism, Canada Council and Ontario Arts Council fellowships, and National Magazine Awards. She won The Toronto Star’s prestigious Atkinson Fellowship in 1994-95 to spend a year developing a public policy agenda on race and gender in the workplace.
