Dennis Lee was born in Toronto in 1939. His most recent poetry collection is Nightwatch: New and Selected Poems (McClelland & Stewart 1996). His latest children's book, The Cat and the Wizard, illustrated by Gillian Johnson, will be out in the fall of 2001 from Key Porter.

Lee has been on the faculty of Writing & Publishing at The Banff Centre.
