Writer Sally Ito is from Edmonton, Alberta, and attended the May Writing Studio (1993 Rachel Wyatt). Ito's first book of poetry, Frogs in the Rain Barrel (Nightwood Editions 1995), was first runner-up for the Milton Acorn People's Memorial Award (1997). Her second book, a collection of short stories entitled Floating Shore, is forthcoming (Mercury Books 1998).
