Banff Centre Press

Richard Harrison's Big Breath of a Wish (Wolsak & Wynn 1999), poems about his daughter learning to speak, was nominated for a Governor General's Literary Award in 1999. His earlier book, Hero of the Play (Wolsak & Wynn 1994), poems told in the language of hockey, which was the first book of poetry launched at the Hockey Hall of Fame, and its reading at the Saddledome marked his introduction as the University of Calgary's Markin-Flanagan Writer-in-Residence. Harrison is also an editor, teaches literature and creative writing at Mount Royal College, and is the author of essays, short fiction and a comic book.
