Dan David is Mohawk (Kanienkeha:ka), Bear Clan, from Kanehsatake, near Oka, Quebec. He has worked for CBC Radio as a national native broadcaster and as a reporter and writer for CBC-TV news. From 1995 to 1998, he held the Chair of Diversity in the School of Journalism at Ryerson Polytechnic University. He won national magazine awards for Anarchy at Kanehsatake (1996) and All My Relations (1998), both of which first appeared in This magazine.
