Ecological and Earth Sciences in Mountain Areas: Sept. 6-10, 2002

Brendan Wilson

Although originally from the Bow Valley in Alberta, Brendan Wilson moved to Australia as a teenager where he completed a BSc in applied environmental biology at the University of Technology in Sydney. Brendan stayed on at UTS to complete an honours thesis investigating the effect of selective harvesting on understory plant communities in an Australian subalpine forest. In the mid-1990s, he moved back to the Alberta Rockies to investigate the regeneration dynamics of alpine larch for his PhD at the University of Alberta. Brendan now lives in the West Kootenays in British Columbia where he focuses on whitebark pine ecology.
