Gaku Kudo

Gaku Kudo is Associate Professor in the Graduate School of
Environmental Earth Science at Hokkaido University in Japan. His
interests are in plant reproductive ecology, leaf trait
variations, and plant-insect interactions through pollination and
herbivory processes. His main field research is conducted in the
Taisetsu Mountains in Hokkaido, northern Japan. At this site, he
has studied the effects of snowmelt regimes on alpine plant life
since 1987. Recently, he has studied artificial warming
experiments and genetic structure of alpine plants at the Taisetsu
Mountains. Outside of Japan, he has worked in eastern Siberia, the
Scandinavian countries, tropical alpine in Borneo, and the
Canadian Rocky Mountains.
