Colleen Jones
Colleen Jones is a Forest Ecologist in British Columbia, owner of
Shamaya Consulting. Colleen has been involved primarily with the
mapping forest ecosystems around the province and was one of the
main developers of the EcoGen methodology. To date, Colleen has
worked on predictive ecosystem mapping projects from the north
coast rainforests to the interior semi-desert dry belts. Colleen
is originally from Alberta having worked in the forestry sector
and with Kananaskis Country for many years. She also worked in
Thailand with the National Parks department and is currently
looking at expanding her work into South America. Her goal has
always been to provide scientists and resource managers with
information and tools that enable them to create sustainable
forest management plans and practice adaptive ecosystem
management.
