Elizabeth Gillis is currently a
Ph.D. student under the supervision of C.J. Krebs, Department of
Zoology, University of British Columbia. Her research focuses on
determining factors affecting individual dispersal and survival
and scaling these effects to the population level. She examines
these factors in northern small mammals, and since May 2000, has
been conducting research on a population of ground squirrels
living in the Ruby Ranges, near Kluane Lake, Southwestern Yukon.
Her current research is being conducted in association with a long
term alpine ecosystem project led by D.H. Hik (University of
Alberta).
