Paul Stephen Corn

Paul Stephen (Steve) Corn, Research Zoologist, US Geological
Survey. B.S. (1974), University of Illinois. M.S. (1977), Ph.D.
(1982) Colorado State University. From 1983 to 1996, he was a
Wildlife Biologist, Zoologist, and Research Zoologist with the
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and National Biological Survey in
Fort Collins, Colorado. In 1996, Dr. Corn moved to Missoula, MT
and joined the Aldo Leopold Wilderness Research Institute as its
first non-Forest Service staff scientist. Current research
projects include effects of ultraviolet radiation on mountain
amphibians, methods to estimate abundance of desert tortoises, and
status and trends of amphibian populations. Dr. Corn is the author
or coauthor of more than 50 refereed papers and book chapters on
the ecology and conservation biology of amphibians, reptiles, and
small mammals and is the Editor of the occasional series Herpetological
Conservation. He organized the symposium Amphibian
Monitoring in Western National Parks, held in Astoria, OR, in
1993, and the workshop Effects of Fisheries Management on the
Amphibians and Other Biota of Wilderness Lakes at the Flathead
Lake Biological Station, MT in 1998.
